Role Summary

Employees assigned to this position are responsible for proposal and business development activities related to developing, selling, and growing new business and for securing follow-on business with existing clients.

What Will You Be Engaged In Day-To-Day?

  • Analyzing potential government or commercial clients and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of assigned client plans, programs, and program funding.
  • Developing and reviewing bid solicitations and making recommendations to management regarding the advisability of and strategy for responding to procurements.
  • Developing proposal briefing materials such as an environmental scan of potential clients, proposal outline and proposal review schedule.
  • Developing and preparing proposals and capability statements, including preparation of technical plan (personnel, management plans, corporate experience and technical approach) and pricing.
  • Reviewing proposal drafts to assure responsiveness to procurement requirements.
  • Coordinating the production of the proposal including coordinating with creative, editorial and courier services to ensure that high quality proposals are delivered error free and on-time.
  • Preparing template corporate materials and case studies, working in conjunction with program staff.
  • Maintaining the extranet and online proposal files.
  • Maintaining and updating proposal standard operating procedures.
  • Preparing required summaries of proposal activities for senior management.
  • Maintaining tracking database of proposal activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications Will Help You Succeed?

  • B.S./B.A. degree, plus a minimum of 8 years experience with significant experience in Government or commercial proposal and business development.
  • Ability to interact well with employees, possess good business judgment, and have mature self-confidence.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work well without major infrastructure support.
  • Above average written, verbal, and organizational skills are required.
